Membership FAQs
Below are some "frequently asked questions" pertaining to AUGI membership and AUGI local chapters.
Why must I provide personal information to join AUGI if membership is free?
AUGI is a volunteer organization. Our basic operating costs are covered by sponsorship investments from third parties. We raise funds by attracting sponsors who help offset costs. We do not sell membership information. We do, however, use general statistics gained from membership demographics to justify our requests for money from sponsors and advertisers. In this way, members can continue to benefit from high-quality AUGI support and education programs.
How are ABUG Chapters and AUGI connected?
ABUG Chapters are the official local chapters of the Autodesk User Group International (AUGI) organization for their respective communities. Your AUGI membership entitles you to full access of all AUGI-sponsored programs for the worldwide community. Local Chapter membership is your source for access to local peer-to-peer support, local programs, and local news - all powered by the infrastructure and backbone of the greater AUGI organization.
How do I change my mailing address, email address, password, or any other contact information?
AUGI management and Local Chapter management use a common database to store your member information. You can change your personal information and preferences at any time.
There are several AUGI Local Chapters in my area. Can I participate in more than one Local Chapter?
In areas where appropriate, AUGI has chartered more than one official local chapter. These exist simply to provide more support for local users. To that end, users who wish to participate in more than one chapter are encouraged to do so. Chapter membership is not limited or exclusive.
Are there membership dues for joining this Local Chapter?
Membership in AUGI is free for all who wish to join, as is membership in this Local Chapter. All operating costs of the chapter are covered by the generous provision of our chapter sponsor.
